The KNYB
In 1990 The Royal Dutch Yahtzee Federation found its birth in the minds of some folks who had the opinion that the honorable Yahtzee sport did not receive the proper acknowledgement. After many discussions the decision was made to found the federation.
The first games were played in the establishment "The Cottage" in the small town of Maastricht, in the south of the Netherlands. The players of the first hour were Pieter de geile Sodemieter, Drs. Prof. Dr. Ir. Kazi, Fuyami, Mr. Constanto and Mr. Subito. During these first games the primitives of the elaborate structure of the KNYB as we now know it were put on paper.
Up till that moment Yahtzee was still looked upon as if it were a game of chance. It quickly became clear though that this would be a wrong assumption, for the game of Yahtzee is characterised by reappearing situations within the game which means it is not a game of chance but has all the characteristics of a true sport.
As in any sport it was decided to set up a clear and usefull set of rules by which diversification would be annihilated. In the first official games it became clear that the original rules were unsatisfactory and had to be changed into Statutes of the Royal Dutch Yahtzee Federation.
Following the plan to "Bring the KNYB to the 21st century" in which the goals were set up to achieve global acknowledgement of the philosophy and rules of Yahtzee we welcome everybody to visit our site and encourage their friends to do the same, so the majority of mankind will be able to know, play and feel the sheer pleasure of a Royal Game of Yahtzee.
YAHTZEE!
