The score is kept by the contestant who has shouted 'NOT WRITE-ES' last before the contest commences. When there is doubt on who has shouted 'NOT WRITE-ES' last, a tie-break can be called upon. Usually most contestants agree on the basis of sportmanship. In this last case the score is kept by the contestant who has lost above mentioned tie-break. The score is kept on a specially prepared contestpaper, with 1 column with the throwcategories (see Abreviations) and as much further columns as contestants. The headings of the columns should contain the Yahtzeenames of the participating contestants, prefixed by the respective titles of the Yahtzeeers. Because some Yahtzeeers do have rather long Yahtzeenames (Think of Master Endoplasmatic Reticulum) the scribent can try to gain permission to abreviate the Yahtzeename. This can only be granted by the player who bears the Yahtzeenaam in question. The Knots are usually written in the same field where we find the Yahtzeename, in the shape of a small ball. The scribent is free, by the way, to vary in the size of the Knots, however extremely small, hardly visible Knots as well as very fat Yahtzeename - violating Knots are out of line. The total score of 'Above' should be kept in a specially reserved row which borders the row with the 'sixes' or the eventual row with the Bonus, for which it is thus not obligatory to reserve a row. The total score of 'Below' is as well kept in a specially reserved row which borders the Chance. At the end of a contest the total score of 'Above' is added to the total score of 'below' and written in a special row for the grand total score. (Just as with the 'bonusrow' a row for transporting the total of 'Above' to 'Below' is optional.) The last task of the scribent consists of placing a series of lines below the total score of the winner. Finally the scribent should, preferably with some 'suspense', read aloud the grand total scores, from the 'last' to the 'first', so the honours can be dealt with in an orderly manner. |
